I know that many students have had issues with SmartMusic recording their practice time. I have e-mailed the company many times, but I wanted to forward the latest response from one of their support technicians. Please contact them if you have any issues.

Thanks for contacting us. I would highly recommend asking the students, or their parents, to contact us. Currently SmartMusic is accurately recording practice time and we are not aware of any issue within the software causing these issues. There are several computer configurations that can cause minutes to be not recorded, so we would want to speak with each student to figure out what their individual issues might be.
The more contacts we get on an issue the more likely there could be an issue with the software. The amount of practice report issues are very small and are caused by something the student is doing, or a permission on their computer.
